Wedding Photojournalism #14

Again featured is the lovely Sussie.  As what happens all to often I find the bride is running late and doesn’t give adequate time for bridal portraits.  This makes it difficult because she is a little more anxious about not being late and it doesn’t give me time to do my job to the best of my ability.  With weddings my approach is to catch as many elegant moments as possible with photojournalism.  I try not to have blinks (of course I catch tons, especially in group photos but these are always deleted) or awkward faces(again with groups its hard to get everyone looking good).  This requires patience and prediction.  In addition to these moments I try to take a few other photographs where I have a little more control over lighting, background and the pose.  I do this because I feel every bride wants to look back on her wedding day and feel beautiful.  This particular day I was quite worried as I didn’t have time to pose any, until after the meal and speeches.  Luckily Sussie was very elegant and with the exception of one photograph I preferred her the photojournalistic bridal portraits I took the more contrived photos.  Though it didn’t go entirely to plan hard work payed off for this couple’s wedding photography.
